BTS, IU, aespa, & More: Koreans Name Their Pick Among The Songs Of 2021!

On the 20th of December, Gallup Korea released the results of their yearly survey regarding the most beloved artists and songs of the year.

The research company notably had surveys that spanned three different month durations that asked over 5000 people all over Korea, excluding Jeju Island, who are over the age of 13 to name their three favorite singers of this year.

But beyond their favorite singers, the people who took the survey were also asked to name three of their favorite songs of the year which were either released or garnered immense acclaim in 2021.

Here are the top 10 songs chosen by voters under the age of 40: 

#10 IU's "Through the Night" - 3.1%

#9 BTS's "Permission to Dance" - tied at 3.5%

#8 MSG Wannabe (M.O.M)'s "Foolish Love" - tied at 3.5%

#7 Girls' Generation Taeyeon's "Weekend" - 3.6%

#6 aespa's "Next Level - 5.1%

#5 AKMU and IU's "NAKKA" - 6.5%

#4 Lee Mujin's "Traffic light" - 8.1%

#3 IU's "LILAC" - 9.3%

#2 BTS's "Dynamite" - 9.6%

#1 BTS's "Butter" - 26.6%

Here are the top 10 songs chosen by voters over the age of 40:

#10 Jin Sung's "Period of Spring Poverty" - 3.4%

#9 Jang Yoon Jung's "Calling the Soul" - tied at 4.0%

#8 Lim Young Woong's "A Purple Postcard" - tied at 4.0%

#7 Jin Sung's "At Andong Station" - 4.2%

#6 BTS's "Butter" - 4.8%

#5 Young Tak's "Jjin-iyah" - 5.7%

#4 Lim Young Woong's "My Starry Love" - 6.3%

#3 Na Hoon Ah's "Tes Hyung!" - 6.6%

#2 Young Tak's "A Glass of Makgeolli" - 8.1%

#1 Lim Young Woong's "Trust in Me" - 8.7%

2021 was filled with amazing and hit songs from all genres under the Korean music industry! Netizens and fans are now excited to see what 2022 has in store for them.
