‘The Little Mermaid’ Live-Action Is Coming Soon, Get To Know The Cast!
"The Little Mermaid" is a Disney classic which revolves around the journey of Ariel as she experiences love and the reality of being human. After Belle, it's time for Ariel to get her very own live-action movie. Get to know the cast of "The Little Mermaid!"
Halle Bailey as Ariel
The singer and actress was announced to become the Disney princess back in 2019. Prior to being cast as the iconic red-haired mermaid, Halle Bailey is the other half of the "Chloe X Halle" duo. Halle Bailey also stars in the American sitcom "Grown-ish" as Skylar "Sky" Foster.
Jonah Haeuer-King as Prince Eric
The British-American actor was chosen to portray the ever-dashing Prince Eric, Ariel's love interest. Jonah Haeuer-King is currently a cast member of the British war drama "World on Fire" where he plays the role of Harry Chase. He also played the role of Lucas in the 2019 movie "A Dog's Way Home."
Javier Bardem as King Triton
Cast to portray the role of King Triton, the ruler of the sea and Ariel's over-protective father, is Spanish actor Javier Bardem. The 52-year-old actor has starred in numerous films including "Skyfall," "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales," "Thy Kingdom Come," and "Everybody Know," among many others.
Melissa McCarthy as Ursula
Given the role of the iconic Disney Villain is "Gilmore Girls" star Melissa McCarthy. Being such an all-rounded entertainer, eyes are on Melissa's portrayal of the evil Ursula.
Also joining the cast of "The Little Mermaid" is "Crazy Rich Asians" star and comedian Awkwafina who will be the voice behind Scuttle the seagull. Meanwhile, Broadway actor Daveed Diggs is cast to lend his voice to our beloved Sebastian, the singing crab. Lastly, taking the voiceover role for Flounder is Jacob Tremblay.
