Netizens Freak Out As YG Entertainment’s AKMU Is Slated To Make A Comeback!

Everyone's favorite brother-sister duo in K-pop is scheduled to make a comeback this July!

Akdong Musician also referred to as AKMU is made up of 2 members. The two members being the siblings Chanhyuk and Suhyun. The dynamic duo made their debut under YG Entertainment 7 years ago on the 7th of April, 2014. AKMU's debut album was entitled "PLAY." 

Like most Korean artists, the 7th year is usually the contract year. Fans were worried that AKMU would not resign with YG Entertainment. But on the 26th of January, YG Entertainment went on to announce AKMU has signed on to the agency for another five years to the delight of fans.

AKMU's Lee Chanhyuk previously noted, "Honestly, it is difficult to find a company that thinks of the artists first as much as YG does. We did not experience trouble or conflicting opinions a single time over the past seven years, and the company led our young selves well while reliably supporting us in the path we are taking." 

To further reinforce the good faith between the artists and agency, Lee Suhyun went on to add, "We did not ever consider leaving YG."

Now that AKMU has re-signed with YG Entertainment, fans started to ask when the duo will release a comeback. To answer that question, YG Entertainment recently shared when AKMU will make a return.

As of writing this article, yesterday on the 27th of June, a media outlet went on to report that AKMU would be dropping a comeback next month in July! The duo has already started shooting their music video.

Following this, AKMU's agency, YG Entertainment, released a statement confirming the reported news. 

As per YG: 

"AKMU is in the middle of filming a music video for a new track. We will announce a specific date through an official press release."

YG Entertainment's AKMU's upcoming comeback will be the duo's first release after eight months. Their latest release was their single, "HAPPENING."
