Exciting: Get To Know The Cast Of ‘School 2021’
At last, the cast lineup for the highly-anticipated drama, "School 2021," has been finalized. "School 2021" is slated to premiere in the second half of this year.
"School 2021" has faced so many detours because of casting and filming problems. Initially, the drama was intended to air last year and was supposed to be called "School 2020." Aside from the detours, an industry insider revealed that the team behind the drama "School 2021" decided to stray away from its source material which is the novel "Oh, My Men" by Munhak Dongne.
Leading the drama is WEi's Kim Yo Han who will portray the role of Gong Ki Joon. Kim Yo Han's character suffered an injury that prevented him from pursuing his goal of doing taekwondo. Many fans are looking forward to Kim Yo Han's portrayal of Gong Ki Joon in "School 2021" after his successful lead role in the Korean remake of the hit drama "A Love So Beautiful."
Meanwhile, "The Penthouse" star Kim Young Dae will be playing the role of transfer student Jung Young Joo who shares an interesting past with Kim Yo Han's Gong Ki Joon.
Adding to the roster is Hwang Bo Reum Byeol. The actress is set to play the role of Kang Seo Young. Her ultimate goal is to enter one of South Korea's top five colleges. Completing the lead cast is Cho Yi Hyun who will portray the character of the ambitious Jin Ji Won. She is never afraid to express herself and her beliefs.
The drama is the eighth installation of KBS2's "School Series" and will be directed by Han Sang Woo. "School 2021" will revolve around young adults and their journey prior to attending college. Each of the characters will add a different color to the story which will show how the youth overcomes an uncertain future. Just like the previous installations of the "School Series," fans are looking forward to seeing "School 2021" and many are curious about how it will stray away from its source material.
