BTS Member Jimin Is The First Korean Soloist To Reach 500 Million Streams On Spotify
Recently, it was reported that BTS member Jimin has yet again reached another milestone in his career as he is the first Korean soloist to reach around 500 million streams with just four of his songs on the popular music streaming platform Spotify. BTS ARMYs and Jimin stans celebrated this milestone by making posts with the hashtag "#JiminSpotify500M" which is trending in countries like Korea, Algeria, the United States, Morocco, Poland, Malaysia, Peru, and Saudi Arabia. People are now even giving him the title now as "Spotify King Jimin."
Four of Jimin's songs have been streamed a lot on the platform that there's no surprise that he reached this new achievement in his career. A recent report revealed the total number of streams on four of his hit solo songs: "Filter" at 146.570 million, "Serendipity Full Length Edition" at 133,922 million, "Intro: Serendipity" at 86.421 million, and "Lie" at 133.680 million.
Aside from being the first Korean artist to have half a billion music streams, Jimin is the only Korean music artist in history to receive three national awards.
First was a "Plaque of Appreciation" from Kim Baek Bong Korean Fan Dance Conservation Society. This was given to him back in February 2019 as he was recognized for his outstanding performance of the traditional Korean fan dance during the Melon Music Awards that happened in 2018. The second award was the "Order of Cultural Merit" medal from the South Korean government back in 2018. It was only Jimin that was recognized for this achievement, but this includes the other members of BTS. The third major award that Jimin received was the James A. Van Fleet award in May 2020. The said award is only given to individuals who have made so many contributions for the promotion of US-Korea relations.
BTS or Bangtan Sonyeondan debuted in 2010 under the South Korean record label HYBE (formally Big Hit Entertainment.) The group members are the following: Jimin, SUGA, RM, Jin, Jung Kook, V, and J-Hope. The group is set to release their new digital single "Butter" in May.
