BTS Member Jimin Is The Only Music Artist In History To Receive Three National Awards
A recent report revealed that so far in K-Pop history, it is only Jimin from BTS that received three national awards. Here are the following awards that he won over the years.
First was a "Plaque of Appreciation" from Kim Baek Bong Korean Fan Dance Conservation Society. This was given to him back in February 2019 as he was recognized for his outstanding performance of the traditional Korean fan dance during the Melon Music Awards that happened in 2018. "Today, we've received numerous awards. I'm sincerely thankful today and hope that we could share this with everyone through better music and performances in the future. To all of you who always support us, we sincerely thank you and love you." Jimin said via a tweet posted on the official BTS Twitter account.
The second award was the "Order of Cultural Merit" medal from the South Korean government back in 2018. It was only Jimin that was recognized for this achievement, but this includes the other members of BTS.
Jimin expressed his thanks, saying that it was usually their leader that always made the speeches, so he felt that his heart was going to explode when he went up to get his award. He said to everyone that this award was so significant because it was created by our members, staff, families, managers, and their fans. Getting the award was such a huge honor for him, and he was forever thankful to those who had stuck with him and BTS. He dedicated the said award to them. He also mentioned that it was only the BTS members that were the youngest people present to receive the award. BTS will continue to do its best to be a good influence on everybody.
The third major award that Jimin received was the James A. Van Fleet award in May 2020. The other members of BTS were also recognized for the awards. The said award is only given to individuals who have made so many contributions for the promotion of US-Korea relations.
