SEVENTEEN member Mingyu trends on Twitter after his agency, PLEDIS Entertainment, released an official statement clarifying the school bullying allegations raised against the 23-year-old idol.

Carats from all over the world are celebrating after PLEDIS Entertainment stated that they had conversations with the alleged victim and Mingyu.

"We met up several times with the person who wrote regarding an incident that occurred when they attended the same hagwon as our artist and verified the facts," PLEDIS stated.

According to PLEDIS, Mingyu admitted that he did fool around with his classmates, but "he did not intentionally cause misery or humiliation to a specific individual." Furthermore, the agency shared that the idol expressed his apologies if the alleged victim happened to "feel discomfort or had a hard time due to his past actions" and clarified misunderstandings.

PLEDIS also shared that the other party accepted Mingyu's apology and hope that "no further arguments regarding this matter will arise and potentially cause harm to the writer."
