Hyunjoo of the Korean girl group April has recently withdrawn herself from the group after apparently being bullied by fellow group members.

This news comes after Hyunjoo's younger brother claimed that the withdrawal of his sister was due to the constant bullying she faced as a member of April. These claims were made over the weekend.

The news has garnered some heavy traction from fellow Korean netizens, which led April's label company to respond to the bullying rumors.

DSP media revealed their side, saying that they will stay silent on the situation until they have fully investigated the allegations. As of now, there is no hard proof that Hyunjoo's decision was due to maltreatment.

In the post of the netizen claiming to be Hyunjoo's brother, he writes that his sister apparently suffered too much maltreatment and even went as far as wanting to end her life. He also claimed that DSP Media has reached out to him to reveal that the singer left the group to pursue a career in acting, which was untrue. Furthermore, the members of the group have not apologized to Hyunjoo.

Hyunjoo's management company explained that Lee Hyunjoo signed to their company to pursue an acting career, but through persuasion and after discussion with her and her family, Lee agreed to be part of DSP's girl group.

Hyunjoo debuted in August 2015 and went on hiatus only after a year. In 2016, the same year she decided to go hiatus, she announced that she would be leaving April to go chase her dreams of becoming an actress. She then made her acting debut in the television series "Momin's Room."

These accusations made by the netizen claiming to be Hyunjoo's brother are unfounded, although due to the post going viral, DSP Media had to step in. Currently, the situation is still under investigation.
