TWICE has come a long way since their debut with "Like Ooh-Ahh" in 2015. The group, adored by a myriad of fans as Korea's Top Girl Group have accomplished a lot from album sales to sold-out concerts during their 5 successful years in the Korean music scene.

These nine lovely ladies were the first to hold a Japan Dome Tour among K-Pop girl groups. They sold out tickets for all the five shows they did across Osaka, Tokyo, and Nagoya. Back in 2019, TWICE's "Feel Special" took South Korea by storm leading them to be the first K-Pop girl group in history to surpass 1 billion streams on Gaon. TWICE was also the first-ever girl group to receive a platinum certification from Gaon after their 2018 hit "What is Love" sold more than 250,000 copies.

What they have enumerated so far is but a small part of TWICE's vast achievements. Indeed TWICE is one of, if not, the biggest girl groups from South Korea. The following are four achievements that TWICE accomplished in 2020 that were the first in K-Pop girl group history.

#1 TWICE is the first K-Pop girl group to surpass 200,000 sales in one day

Last June, TWICE came back with their 9th mini album "MORE & MORE." This album sold around 265,280 copies in just 24 hours, making TWICE the first K-Pop girl group surpassing the 200,000 mark in one day.

#2 TWICE is the first K-Pop girl group to surpass 5 million sales in Korea

TWICE continued to break "MORE & MORE" records with their 9th mini album. According to Gaon, TWICE was the first K-Pop girl group to sell a total of more than 5,000,000 physical albums in Korea after their release with "MORE & MORE." Not only that but TWICE was the first-ever girl group to surpass 500,000 stock album pre-orders.

#3 TWICE is the first K-Pop girl group to sell 100,000 online concert tickets

The coronavirus pandemic has put a lot of K-Pop concerts and tours on halt, including TWICE's remaining "TWIELIGHTS" concerts. Because of this, the girl group took their performance to the online stage last August 9th. Their first-ever Beyond LIVE concert entitled "TWICE: World in a Day," sold more than 100,000 tickets making them the first K-Pop girl group to do so. Not only that but TWICE's Beyond LIVE became the third most viewed online concert this year. It grossed over ₩3.30 billion KRW ($2.83 million USD).

#4 TWICE is the first K-Pop girl group to surpass 10 million cumulative album sales

On December 1, TWICE is officially the first-ever girl group to sell more than 10 million albums. According to Gaon Chart, TWICE has sold a total of 5,818,380 albums including their recent release with "Eyes Wide Open" in Korea alone. Additionally, the nine-membered girl group has sold a total of 4,210,862 Japanese albums according to the Oricon chart. In total, the JYP super-girl group has sold a total of 10,029,242 albums, cumulatively.

Indeed, TWICE is the "epitome" of girl groups. They have achieved countess of awards in just five years of their career and they will surely achieve more. With the help of ONCEs, TWICE is set to take over the world!
