A new "Halo 5: Guardians" free update was launched and adds a free big team battle, according to IGN.

"Halo 5: Guardians" is a game from the "Halo" game series developed by 343 Industries and published by Microsoft Studios. This new iteration continues the story of Master Chief, the protagonist, and introduces a new team.

"Halo" is also famous for its multiplayer gameplay, which a lot of tournaments have been created for it. The game was launched last month, Oct. 27.

The new update is called "The Battle of Shadow and Light." The update contains the Big Team Battle which lets two teams of eight players battle it out for victory, according to VG247. This also contains four new maps which will be available in both matchmaking and custom games. The four maps are the Basin, Deadlock, Guillotine, and Recurve.

Along with the "Halo 5" update is the inclusion of 45 new REQs to collect. These items are scattered all over different sections of the game and this will allow a player to get a new range of armor, weapons and emblem customization in the multiplayer mode, according to the Express.

"Our promised commitment to meaningful post-launch support and expanded free content begins today with our first drop: Battle of Shadow and Light, which adds the stealthy new Shinobi ninja-themed armor, some legendary Light Rifle firepower and perhaps most importantly, the arrival of Big Team Battle maps, modes and mayhem to 'Halo 5: Guardians'," according to 343 Industries in an announcement for the update.

Other than the new REQs, there is also other content in the update like new modes, fixes and many more, according to Attack of the Fanboy. All of the content in the update is all for free.

While the new "Halo 5" update gives the gamers the new REQs, 343 Industries warns that some of the items may take a while to get hold of.
