Britney Spears Wants Her Father Removed From His Conservatorship Position

Pop star Britney Spears recently assured fans that she is the happiest she has ever been. But recent developments seem to point to a new conflict between Spears and her father, Jamie Spears. 

Her father has been the conservator of her assets for 12 years after her much-publicized meltdown in 2008. As a result, all the decisions regarding her finances must first be approved by Jamie. 

Now court documents indicate that the singer wants Bessemer Trust to be the sole conservator, citing that a working relationship between her father would most definitely fail. One of the factors that may have brought Britney to this decision is the fact that Tristar Sports and Entertainment Group stopped being her business manager. Her father readily hired Michael Kane, without ever consulting his own daughter about it. 

Britney's camp claims that this is just another way to control everything that belongs to Britney. Fans of the star all over the world have been very concerned regarding the conservatorship issue, with many wishing that the pop star would be allowed control over her own assets. They even trended and started the Free Britney movement, and some fans even organized protests to show their support for the 38-year-old singer.
