EXO’s Chen Begins Military Duty, Members Pose for EXO’s Traditional Send-off
On October 26, Exo's Chen enlists for the military just 10 days after the release of his soulful solo single "Hello."
Last October 16, EXO's main vocalist shared a heartwarming letter to fans stating his plans of enlisting for military service as well as promising them that he will fulfill his duties in "good physical and mental health."
SM Entertainment has kept the details of Chen's enlistment as per his request.
But on the day of Chen's enlistment, the company released photos of EXO members Suho, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, and Sehun sending Chen off for enlistment.
They posed for a 'traditional EXO send-off' where members put their hands on Chen's head after he got his hair cut.
Chen is the fourth EXO member to carry out his mandatory military service after Xiumin (May 2019), D.O (July 2019), and Suho (May 2020).
Almost all able-bodied South Korean men must start almost two years of military service by the time they are 28, although exceptions are made for classical musicians and athletes who win international competitions.
Watch out for the activities of the remaining EXO members.
