BTS Pays Homage & Transforms Like The Beatles In 'The Late Show With Stephen Colbert'

BTS made another TV history in America. The Korean boy group paid homage to the Beatles at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City where the British group made their US television debut.

Clad in classic black suits like the Fab Four, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook performed at The Late Show With Stephen Colbert with their latest hit single, "Boy With Luv." To better feel the 60s era, Colbert recreated the stage to make it look like in 1964 when John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison performed at the very same stage.

But BTS is not the only ones that went back in time, Colbert too. With the help of makeup, Colbert pretended to be the iconic host Ed Sullivan himself complete with body movement and the 60s intonation. Colbert also called the group "the Fab Seven" and the global craze for them as "BTS Mania."

To complete the Beatles vibe, the performance was also shown in black and white, while the "BTS" name can be seen written on the drum set in the background. Hilariously, even the members of the audience are dressed in the 60s outfit.

Many members of BTS ARMY commented that LSSC was the simplest stage arrangement the septet had played into but it speaks the influence and power the group command. Other mentioned that there were other boy groups that visited The Late Show With Stephen Colbert but no one was given this kind of special production.

In many BTS appearances, they were compared to the Beatles. The latest of which is at the Good Morning America's Summer Concert Series which happened on the same day as their guesting in LSSC.

BTS kicked off the GMA's Summer Concert Series in New York City's Central Park. During the show, host Robin Roberts asked the group how they feel about being compared to the Beatles.

Group leader RM revealed all of them love the Beatles and it is a great honor to be compared to the greatest names in the entertainment industry. The K-pop global superstars recently became the first band since The Beatles to achieve three Billboard No. 1 albums in less than year with their latest album Map of the Soul: Persona.

BTS will continue with their Love Yourself: Speak Yourself world tour on May 18 and 19 at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The septet is also scheduled for a two-night concert at the Allianz Parque in Sao Paulo, Brazil on May 25 and 26 before heading for the Europe leg of the tour in June.
