The production of the upcoming James Bond sequel has hit another setback. The filming for Bond 25 has been delayed once again after its lead actor Daniel Craig got injured on set but he is reportedly ready to return to work within a week.

Reports indicate that the actor slipped and fell while running on the set in Jamaica last week. He has been flown to the United States for X-rays as Craig complaint of pain in his ankle. As a result of the recent incident, the filming has been halted.

According to British newspaper The Sun, Craig is filming his final scenes in Jamaica when the accident happened. It is unclear how long the delay will be, but the publication reported that the filming that is scheduled to begin at the Pinewood Studios in London at the end of the week has already been canceled as well.

The Sun also cited a source as saying that Craig's injury is not as severe as production staff first thought. He is therefore expected to be backed on set within the week but still needs to take it easy on his ankle.

This is not the first time Craig sustained injuries while doing his own stunts for a Bond movie. In his James Bond debut movie, Casino Royale, he had two teeth knocked out. In Quantum of Solace, the tip of his finger got sliced off and he also tore a shoulder muscle. In Spectre, he injured a knee during the filming of a fight scene.

This is also not the first time that the production of Bond 25 has been delayed. The movie was originally scheduled for release in October 2019 but it was put on a halt after director Danny Boyle left the project over creative differences with producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson.

True Detective director Cary Joji Fukunaga is now directing the movie. Craig's last outing as 007 is currently scheduled for release on April 8, 2020. It was also earlier confirmed that Oscar-winner Rami Malek will be playing the role of villain in the upcoming sequel.

Aside from London and Jamaica, the movie is also filming in Italy and Norway. The cast of Bond 25 previously held a special live stream from Jamaica to mark the start of their filming. Broccoli revealed that Jamaica will play an important part in the upcoming installment.

She said Bond 25 will open with the spy "enjoying himself in Jamaica." However, his peaceful getaway in the Caribbean island will be short-lived when his old friend from the CIA, Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright), turns up and asks for his help about a scientist who was kidnapped.
