New K-Pop Boy Group TXT Confirms Debut Date, Album Title, & More
Big Hit Entertainment has finally confirmed the debut date for its new boy group, TXT. The highly-anticipated debut of BTS's juniors are set on March 4 and the group will also be dropping their first album on the same date.
After weeks of releasing teasers for the group and its individual members, Big Hit has announced that TXT will be releasing their debut album, titled The Dream Chapter: STAR, on March 4. The label added that the group will be making their debut on Mnet's Debut Celebration Show at 7 p.m. KST. The show will be followed by a debut showcase on March 5 at the Yes24 Live Hall in Seoul.
Big Hit made the announcement a week after it was rumored that TXT, which stands for Tomorrow by Together, will officially debut next month. At the time, the agency denied the rumor and said they will release a statement about the group's debut once the date has been finalized.
TXT is the first group Big Hit will debut since BTS in 2013. TXT has five members: Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Hueningkai. All are in their teens. The eldest and also the leader of the group, Soobin, is only 18.
They were introduced one by one through a series individual teaser film over the month. Their short films have already accumulated 61 million views on YouTube.
According to Big Hit, each member of TXT is different from one another and they are assembled together under one dream in hopes of building a new tomorrow. It looks like TXT will also be introduced with an interesting narrative and "dream" will play an important role in it.
Aside from Big Hit's description of the new group, there have been multiple references to "dream" in the teasers of TXT. At the end of each members introduction video, a Morse code can be heard and it spells out the word "dreaming." Additionally, when the group's name was first announced, their official website states "You and I are different but together" and the phrase changes to "We explore one dream."
It is interesting to note that BTS also made reference to "dream" when they debut in June 2013. The Bangtan Sonyeondan's debut song was "No More Dream."
