Angelina Jolie's eldest son, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, will not study in South Korea or at least in one of the country's top universities. Yonsei University in Seoul has denied reports that Maddox has applied for admission at the university.

Jolie along with her sons, Maddox and Pax, visited South Korea recently. The Hollywood A-list actress and the boys attended a campus tour of Yonsei University on November 3. Reports indicate that the family was able to visit the university's main building, the gravestone of poet Yoon Dong Joo, and Chejungwon, the country's first medical institution. This sparked rumors that Maddox has applied for admission at Yonsei and also attended an interview over the weekend.

People Magazine earlier reported that the eldest of Jolie and actor Brad Pitt will graduate from high school soon and he shows interest in studying Korean. Jolie and Pitt share six children together: Maddox, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 10. Jolie adopted seven-month-old Maddox in 2002 from an orphanage in Cambodia.

Apparently, the 17-year-old Maddox has shown interest in Korean language and culture. However, Yonsei University issued a statement (via Soompi) on Tuesday, saying Maddox did not apply for any of their 2019 programs.

Meanwhile, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugee (UNHCR) confirmed Jolie's official visit in South Korea and also shared some photos of the actress. Aside from accompanying her son to a campus tour, Jolie also did her work a special envoy for UNHCR. She met with Korea's Justice Minister Park Sang Ki and thanked the country for hosting around 500 Yemeni refugees.

According to UNHCR, Jolie has stressed the importance of comprehensive procedures as well as the efforts to provide protection to the refugees in the country until the time when that they are able to safely return to their country. The Maleficent actress also expressed UNHCR's wish to work more closely with the Korean authorities on strengthening their asylum system.

Moreover, Angelina Jolie also met South Korean actor and UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Jung Woo-sung. The two discussed the recent public concern in Korea over the arrival of the Yemeni refugees in Jeju Island. Jung became a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador for his country in 2015.
