Fans have gotten only a little information about the much-awaited One Punch Man Season 2. However, on his Twitter account, Weekly Shonen Jump's illustrator, Yusuke Murata, dropped a major spoiler about the upcoming anime series' new installment.
Yusuke Murata revealed a quick sketch of the upcoming new character in One Punch Man Season 2—Garou. Here, the Weekly Shonen Jump illustrator showed how simple this character looks like but displays it with striking design.
It was earlier reported Garou will be introduced as a new character in One Punch Man Season 2 as announced at the recent Anime Japan in Tokyo. He will be voiced by Hikaru Midorikawa, who is also behind the voices of Android 16 and Tien in Dragon Ball Z. According to Comic Book, his voice as Garou will be first heard on One-Punch Man Maji CD Drama & Song series' Volume 4 in Japan on June 20.
Although Garou is already known to be a part of the original manga series, which the anime is based on, this will be the first time he will be seen in the animated show. To recall, his name was already mentioned in the previous season's Episode 10. His shadow was also seen there. However, in One Punch Man Season 2, fans will see him in his full glory. Garou's character is described to be a hero monster who loves the monsters himself.
Additionally, Midorikawa is also set to attend the special event, One-Punch Man Serious School Festival, on August 12. The voice actor will be joined by other One Punch Man Season 2's returning stars like Makoto Furukawa, Kaito Ishikawa, Yuuki Kaji, Hiroki Yasumoto, Masaya Onosaka, and Toshiki Masuda.
There are assumptions that the first official trailer for Once Punch Man Season 2 will be revealed at the said event. In fact, there are reports saying the gathering's main purpose is to give an official update and other details about Saitama's return to the small screen.
Talking about the trailer, the show's character designer, Chikashi Kubota, revealed One Punch Man Season 2's official trailer would be unveiled before Evangelion Final's release. Meanwhile, the anime series' new season will be now handled by J.C. Staff, which is also responsible for Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma. It will also have a new director, Chikara Sakurai, as Yoshikazu Iwanami will be now its sound director.
