Lee Min Ho is considered a triple threat in the Korean entertainment world. The Boys Over Flowers actor can act, sing, and he can also dance if he’s required to do so. However, there is one more thing that the famous ex of Suzy Bae is good at—soccer! Unfortunately, the Legend of the Blue Sea star had to sacrifice his love for the sport to become an actor.

The 30-year-old South Korean actor and singer was catapulted to stardom after portraying his role as Gu Jun-pyo in Boys Over Flowers in 2009. Lee Min Ho’s success didn’t stop there as he became a part of other well-loved Korean dramas like City Hunter, The Heirs, and Legend of the Blue Sea.

Lee Min Ho then branched out from the small screen to the big screen and starred in his first leading role in Gangnam Blues in 2015. The top Hallyu (Korean cultural wave) star then appeared in a China-produced movie, Bounty Hunters, just a year after his first one.

With his unstoppable success, it appears that Lee Min Ho is just born to be an actor. However, acting is not the only thing that he is passionate about.

In fact, Lee Min Ho already had a love for soccer since he was just a young boy. Unfortunately, the ex of Suzy Bae can’t have both worlds, so he eventually had to choose between being an athlete and acting. Obviously, he chose the latter.

Choosing to become a full-fledged actor actually affected Lee Min Ho’s athletic side. The famous star was good at soccer, and he idolizes Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo, but he had to give it up if he wanted to maintain what he now has as an actor.

Even though he has the talent for the sport, Lee Min Ho shared that he can’t play anymore because he had to keep his legs thin. Since soccer is an active sport and would make his legs thick and muscular, he had to drop it like a bad habit because actors in South Korea have a specific look and they certainly don’t have a look of an athlete.
