'Super Smash Bros.' Wii U Includes Cloud In Character List; Release Date Of DLC Unknown
A new "Super Smash Bros." Wii U character will be joining the roster and it will be Cloud, according to Kotaku.
Cloud is a famous "Final Fantasy 7" character and he is also the protagonist of the game. "Final Fantasy 7" was developed and published by Square-Enix and has gotten different spin-off games and a movie through the years. Recently at E3 2015, it was announced that the main game will be remade by the game developers. There is still no update of the remake but this time Cloud will be making an appearance on another game.
When the Nintendo Direct presentation ended, it was announced in a trailer that the "Final Fantasy 7" protagonist Cloud Strife will be joining the roster of the "Super Smash Bros." game as the next DLC character.
"Super Smash Bros." is known for having famous video game characters clash against each other and can only be played on the Wii U console and the 3DS handheld console.
Previously, Ryu, a character from the "Street Fighter" series, joined the ranks as a DLC character too. Cloud will be the second popular video game character to join, according to Polygon.
Along with the character is the stage related to his game which is a "FFVII" themed Midgar stage, according to The Verge.
Cloud has appeared in different Nintendo games recently like "Theatrhythm Final Fantasy," a music spinoff game and the sequel titled "Curtain Call." These games were available on the Nintendo 3DS. Cloud also appeared in another Nintendo game, "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories," on Game Boy Advance, according to sources.
Even though the new character was revealed after the presentation, Nintendo did not reveal any other details like the price at which the game comes, and the release date for the new DLC character as well as the new stage, according to IGN. The new "Super Smash Bros." Wii U character will have to be a mystery for a while.
