"The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" HD has been confirmed to be coming to the Wii U consoles early next year, according to The Verge.

"Twilight Princess" was first launched for the GameCube, but it quickly became the first "Zelda" title for the Wii console. It was launched in 2006. The game also had unique mechanics that many fans loved including turning the main character, Link, into a werewolf.

A few months ago, there were rumors of the HD edition of the game, but there was no proof yet. Today at the Nintendo Direct presentation, "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" in high definition was announced for Wii U. The release date of the game will be on March 4, 2016, according to IGN.

The HD port of the game was developed with the help of Tantalus, an Australian based game developer. The game publisher, Nintendo, has already shown some gameplay videos. These videos had different stories like when Link met Zelda, and also the protagonist riding Epona through the famous Hyrule Field.

The video, however, did not show any indication if it will be supported by the Wii remote motion controls.

The game will not just get a high definition upgrade, it will also have an Amiibo. The Amiibo will be the Wolf Link Amiibo and it will support "Legend of Zelda" characters on the Smash Bros. game. It will support other Amiibo characters related to the "Legend of Zelda" franchise like Toon Link, Zelda and many more, according to Gamespot.

"The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" HD will be launched on March 4, 2016. The game is already available for pre-order. There will be more announcements and news about the "Legend of Zelda" franchise because next year will be the 30th anniversary of the franchise, according to sources.
