'Strongest Deliveryman' Star Go Kyung Pyo's Next Project Might Be A Medical Drama
The success of "Strongest Deliveryman" is bringing luck to its cast. The romantic-comedy which aired its final episode last week already has jobs lined up for its lead stars Go Kyung Pyo and Chae Soo Bin.
For Kyo, the actor is currently in talks to star in "Cross: God's Gift," a new drama that will air on tvN. It follows a doctor who uses his knowledge and abilities not to cure people, but kill them. The medical drama is scheduled to air sometime in 2018 on tvN.
"It's true that he received an offer to appear in 'Cross,'" Kyo's agency CL& Company confirmed in a statement (via Soompi). "He's currently considering the role."
Before landing the lead role in "Strongest Deliveryman," Kyo appeared in several other dramas including "Chicago Typewriter," "Reply 1998" and "Jealousy Incarnate." The latter even won him a New Star Award from SBS Drama Award in 2016.
If Kyo accepts the gig, it will be significantly different from his recent-concluded drama on KBS2. In "Strongest Deliveryman," Kyo played the role of Choi Gang Soo, a hard-working and rather nosy guy who becomes the founder of a delivery app company.
The drama has opened with strong ratings and was able to maintain it after two months on air. It has peaked with a 7.7% rating nationwide in its finale episode according to AGB Nielsen.
Kyo is not the only cast member who is ready to work shortly after "Strongest Deliveryman" has wrapped up. Chae, who played the role of Lee Dan A in the comedy, is also currently in talks to star in the upcoming drama "I'm Not A Robot." The comedy-romance will also star Seun Ho ("Ruler: Master of the Mask"). She is yet to accept the role. She is set to play an ambitious female entrepreneur.
