Jang Geun Suk To Make Movie Comeback Via 'The Time Of Humans'? 'Love Rain' Actor Set To Play Controversial Role

There is a very strong possibility that Jang Geun Suk will finally return to the big screen after six years. Recent reports hint that the "Love Rain" star is in talks to join the cast of "The Time of Humans."

According to a report by Soompi, Kim Ki Duk Films confirmed that they have offered Jang Geun Suk a role in the movie and the actor is currently reviewing the offer. "The Time of Humans" would be a very interesting comeback choice for the actor as the production teased the controversial concept behind the film.

According to production insiders, "The Time of Humans" which will explore the symbolic and metaphorical representation of the history of man is expected to raise controversy within and outside Korea. It is yet unclear what type of role has been offered to Jang Geun Seuk whose last movie role was for the adaptation of Japanese manga "Kimi Wo Petto" or "You're My Pet."

If Jang Geun Suk accepts the role, he will be joining veteran film actor Ahn Sung Ki and "The Unjust" star Ryoo Seung Bum who have already accepted roles for the movie. The casting for "The Time of Humans" is expected to be completed this month so production can begin by the end of May.

While Jang Geung Suk has lied low in terms of filming movies, he has remained active in the Korean drama scene as he starred in one successful drama after the other. Aside from the breakout "You Are Beautiful" opposite Park Shin Hye, the actor also starred in the Japanese drama Ikemen  Desu Ne, "Love Rain" with YoonA, "Bel Ami" with IU and "The Royal Gambler" which featured him in the titular role.

The actor has also been smart in investing his earnings as he entered the list of wealthiest celebrities with real estate investments. The actor owns 38 billion won worth of properties which is estimated to be around $33 million worth of assets, making him one of the youngest artists on the list.
