South Korea's Official Election Features 'Game Of Thrones' And 'Mortal Kombat'

Last May 9, South Korea officially held its presidential election after the former president, Park Geun Hye, was ousted from his position. Sources told that Geun Hye was immediately removed from his presidency due to a corruption issue that affected the whole of South Korea. And while the election gets more intense, South Korea's major TV networks tried to make things lighter by adding fun in the tally of votes.

According to Soompi, KBS, MBC, and SBS were the official channels held responsible for informing the viewers of the latest happenings in the presidential elections. The said public broadcasters tried to make things light by putting some fun on the percentages of votes being reported. Sources told that the channels tried to incorporate graphics that is align with the pop culture. Graphics added include "Game Of Thrones", "Detective Conan", "Pokemon Go", "Show Me The Money" and "Mortal Kombat".

News revealed, that among the graphics being presented, the "Game Of Thrones" was the one who captured most of the attention from the viewers. The presidential candidates were edited over some of the characters from the hit show as the theme song background plays simultaneously. Fans admitted that the series and the current situation were seemingly alike as the show presents a political conflict, family based corruption, and potential warfare.

Other than that, after polls began announcing who takes the lead, the channels began releasing graphics that resembles the "Pokemon Go". The said preview showed the leading candidate being caught with a Pokeball, which was admired by the viewers. Up until today, the graphics shown were still talk of the town and is being shared by netizens online.

Meanwhile, Independent reported that Moo Jae In is currently taking the lead in the election. Once he wins, reports revealed that South Korea might end the conservative rule and change the policy towards North Korea.
