Kim Hyun Joong Holds First Fanmeeting After Military Discharge & Recent Controversies

After being discharged from his mandatory military service, actor Kim Hyun Joong holds his first fanmeeting on April 29 titled '2017 Kim Hyun Joong Fanmeeting Anemone'. This will also be the first fanmeeting after the actor's series of recent scandals and controversies.

This will be Kim Hyun Joong's first event with fans in over 4 years. The actor's skinny appearance might have worried fans that saw him. The actor expressed his feelings toward the event, saying, "I've unreasonably held a fan meeting. I felt that if I didn't take this chance, it would be a long time until I see you. Though I'm very apologetic, it turns out I'm holding this event." He further added, "Four years can be seen as a short yet long time. I plan to go on a Japan tour in June."

In case you missed Kim Hyun Joong's past issues, the actor went under public scrutiny after allegedly beating his ex-girlfriend. The claims were eventually proven to be false. However, the news already drew out polarizing reactions from the public. Hyun Joong's ill fate continued after he was charged for driving under the influence on March 26.

A CCTV camera captured footage of the actor falling asleep at a red light. When confronted by authority, it was revealed that he had a blood alcohol level of 0.075%. Kim Hyun Joong's license was then suspended and on April 25, the Seoul District Public Prosecutors Office charged him a fine of 2 million won, which is roughly about $1,774.

While his agency, KeyEast Entertainment, said that he lacked sleep due to concert preparations, they emphasized that the actions of Kim Hyun Joong was irresponsible and claimed the actor will take the time to reflect on his mistakes and will make sure not to let anything like that happen again in the future.
