Song Ji Hyo Confesses Disappointment Over ‘Running Man’ Alum Gary’s Marriage

The news of the South Korean rapper Gary's wedding surprised many fans including some of the said celebrity's friends. Recently, Song Ji Hyo shared her thoughts about her former "Running Man" cast member's marriage.

Song Ji Hyo gave a candid response during a "Running Man" fan meeting where she was asked to comment on Gary's surprise wedding announcement. Held in Malaysia, the actress shared that she had no idea of her former cast member's marriage plans, Korean news outlet TV Report quoted the said cast member as saying.

The "This Week, My Wife is Having an Affair" actress also admitted that she felt disappointed that Gary did not inform her or the other "Running Man" cast members that he was getting married. Song Ji Hyo shared that they only learned about the musician's wedding through media reports.

Song Ji Hyo's fellow "Running Man" cast member Haha even stated how he sent Gary a congratulatory message when he heard about the singer's wedding. Despite not receiving a reply, Haha remained optimistic that Gary will contact them soon. He even added how they understood their former co-star's decision to keep silent about his marriage plans.

Meanwhile, the said "Running Man" alum was one of the SBS variety program's original cast members. During the early episodes of the show, the rapper was linked to Song Ji Hyo and the duo was dubbed the "Monday Couple." However, Gary decided to leave the show in November 2016 to focus on his music career.

In other news, veteran "Running Man" stars recently welcomed two new cast members to the show. Comedian Yang Se Chan and "Endless Love" actress Jeon So Min officially joined Song Ji Hyo, Haha, Ji Suk Jin, Kim Jong Kook, Yoo Jae Suk and Lee Kwang Soo as regular members of the SBS variety program in mid-April.

The two celebrities' addition to "Running Man" is part of the production's efforts to inject new life into the long-running show. Recently, the program recorded its lowest TV ratings to-date. Aired on April 9, the said episode posted viewership shares of 2.8 percent for the show's first half and 3.4 percent for the second half, according to Nielsen Korea, as cited by Soompi.
