'Attack on Titan' Season 2 To Finally Air This April 1; New Season Only Has 12 Episodes?
"Attack on Titan" Season 2 is really happening and fans are pretty sure that it is no April Fool's joke. After waiting for over two years, the fandom will finally witness Eren and the rest of the Survey Corps back in action as they fight to survive in a Titan-laden world that seems to be gaining ground this season.
Funimation has officially shelled out an English subbed version of "Attack on Titan" Season 2 and from the looks of it, the Survey Corps will be getting a handful this season as hungry Titans try to breach their walled city. Glimpses of new behemoths are also slated to be introduced in the upcoming installment with the most noticeable being Zeke Yeager's Beast Titan, Starz Post reported.
For those who are new to the lore, Zeke is Eren's half-brother and one of the antagonists in "Attack on Titan's" upcoming season. As the teaser trailer suggests, the towering ape-like Titan form of the villain is substantially covered with hair with arms almost reaching the ground.
The Beast is said to don an insane amount of brute strength and dexterity as it was featured in the video where it flung Mike Zacharias' horse towards him albeit being on a far off spot. Moreover, the upcoming Titan is able to speak as he asked Mike about the 3D Maneuver Gear.
If rumors are anything to go by, "Attack on Titan" protagonist Eren Yeager/Jaeger will be getting less action this season as it was mentioned by its voice actor Yuki Kaji. Yuki revealed that he only made a few recordings for the show's inbound season alongside other actors. The voice actor further explained that albeit being the main character, there are still several key figures in the series that will take center stage and would contribute to the show's backbone.
Meanwhile, the forthcoming Blu-ray and DVD releases of "Attack on Titan" Season 2 seem to suggest that it will be a lot shorter as compared to the first that boasts 25. It is said that each set will have two volumes with each only containing six episodes. Volume one will be released in Japan on June 21 while the next will be out on August 18, Anime News Network reported.
"Attack on Titan" Season 2 will finally air this April 1 and will be streamed by both Funimation and Crunchyroll. Watch the subbed version of the show's teaser trailer here:
