Not even a month has passed since The CW bid goodbye to "The Vampire Diaries" after eight seasons that the wheels in series creator Julie Plec's brains are turning to a new idea. According to Plec, she has an idea for a fresh spinoff for the residents of Mystic falls.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Plec said that she already has an idea for a new show that will take off from "The Vampire Diaries." The CW's "The Originals" which revolves around the original vampire clan, the MIkaelsons was the first spinoff to come out and is now in its fourth season. It also took over the slot left by "The Vampire Diaries" when it aired its swan song last March 10.

According to Plec, they will be featuring a crossover for Matt this season of "The Originals" and this will be the basis of whether or not they would pursue the second "The Vampire Diaries" spinoff. Plec, in a report by Romper, said that she is not averse to the idea of writing in some characters from Mystic Falls to "The Originals." She said for the meantime, the characters will be taking a break from vampire or werewolf activities.

Some fans are already speculating that among the characters who will eventually move to New Orleans is Caroline after the character received a letter at "The Vampire Diaries" epilog that hinted that Klaus is still waiting for her. Some pundits believe that the possibility of them being together now has become bigger now that they are both immortals.

Plec immediately shut down the idea for the near future since Klaus and Caroline's timelines do not match up. She did not say for certain that it will not happen so hope remains high that the reunion could take place in the future seasons of "The Originals" or "The Vampire Diaries'" second spinoff show.
