If singer-actress Sandara Park were made to choose between singing and acting, she should stick to the latter. That's what director Jeon Jae Hong advised her during the press conference Tuesday for the movie "One Step" where Sandara Park plays the lead role alongside Han Jae Suk. The movie is a Korean remake of the 2013 American musical comedy-drama "Begin Again" which means the former 2NE1 member got to showcase both of her singing and acting talents.

Director Jeon Jae Hong was all praises for the 32-year-old singer-actress as he revealed how she "perfectly memorized" all her lines and "barely made any mistakes" during the filming. He even compared her to Yoon Kye Sang, a former singing idol who left the boy band g.o.d. to pursue an acting career and whom the director also got to work with for the 2011 indie film "Poongsan Dog." "I think she's the greatest rookie actress I've seen," the "One Step" director commented about Sandara Park, according to Soompi.

He also added, "In my opinion, I think she should keep acting over singing [if she had to choose one]." On her part, Sandara Park showed a humble side when she credited the director for bringing out the best in her as she constantly turned to him for advice on how to play her character. The singer-actress played the role of Si Hyun, a woman with colored-hearing synesthesia who lost all her memories after a car accident. Han Jae Suk portrayed the character of failed songwriter Ji Il who works with Si Hyun to regain her lost memories.

Sandara Park shared that she initially thought to portray her character "would come easily" for her since she's more of a singer than an actress but confessed that she "had to practice singing a lot" for her role. She considered herself still lacking when it comes to acting just as she thought herself the least talented among the former members of 2NE1.

She rose to fame in the Philippines in 2004 after joining a reality-based talent competition and appeared in five Filipino films before launching her debut as part of 2NE1. "One Step" is her first Korean film and will hit theaters April 6.
