Seo In Guk Denies Military Enlistment Date In March
Singer-actor Seo In Guk will not be leaving his fans yet next month. At least that's what his management label Jellyfish Entertainment said when it dismissed earlier reports about the celebrity's military enlistment date supposedly on March 28.
"Our label and Seo In Guk have yet to receive any specific information from the military bureau regarding his enlistment date and plans," allkpop quoted a representative from the agency as stating Friday. The label's official statement also clarified that they have not confirmed nor announced any news about the military enlistment date. This directly contradicts earlier claims from media outlets that reported a source from the agency who revealed that the "Reply 1997" star already received his enlistment date for next month.
The 29-year-old "Superstar K" winner spoke openly since last year about his plans to enlist. Hailed as the Kiss Master, Seo In Guk believed that entering the military will enrich his experience and be valuable for him as an artist. "Of course, since [army life] isn't something I've tried, I could make a mistake or it might not go very well, but I think there are lessons to be learned even from those mistakes," he told Seoul Economy, according to drama beans. He also shared that people who knew him expected him to blend well in the military. The artist underwent a physical examination and has been approved for active-duty soldier. Once he receives his military enlistment date, he's expected to report to Yeoncheon county's 5th division in Gyeonggi-do for a five-week basic training.
The artist, considered as the most filial son among celebrities, revealed in an interview with Star News last year that he "would like to enlist quietly" and do something for his fans before enlisting so they won't be sad. Seo In Guk picked up his singing career again with the release of new songs and even a year-end concert after dedicating 2016 to TV shows and dramas.
