Super Junior vocalist Ryeowook will enlist in the South Korean military in June.

Super Junior's Ryeowook sent updates on his military life through a handwritten English letter to E.L.F. fans.

The 29-year-old Super Junior member's latest letter described a beautiful day in the military while he talked about English singer-songwriter Sam Smith, bandmate Shindong and the rest of the boys.

Ryeowook enlisted in the military October 11 last year and trained with the 37th Division's recruit training center in Chungcheongbuk-do for five weeks. He's now serving the military band and sends monthly letters to fans written in Korean, according to Koreaboo.

He wrote his latest letter in Korean and asked an English-speaking friend to translate it for him:

"Today is a beautiful day. Looks like spring is about to come, with all the flowers getting ready to blossom. I'm writing this in a bus right now, on my way to an 'Event.' I wonder what all of you are doing right now. Some of you might be looking out the window after lunch, or maybe you could be about to take a nap. Speaking of naps, I would love a little rest on a beautiful weather like today's. anyways, I'm sitting on the back seat with this letter, listening to some Sam Smith songs."

Ryeowook recounted how listening to Smith's songs brought back memories of his one-sided love. He also expressed his excitement on writing songs upon his comeback.

"You give me lots of strength, and thanks to you, I'm getting along perfectly here. Oh, and I'm also keeping an eye on all the other Super Junior members on TV," wrote the singer.

He mentioned Shindong, discharged from the military in December 2016, whom they frequently see on TV.

Shindong has appeared on several variety shows since his comeback.

Super Junior members Shindong, Leeteuk, Sungmin, Yesung and army boys Siwon, Donghae and Eunhyuk recently met for dinner to discuss their upcoming comeback upon the trio army boys' military discharge.
