Avid "The Sims 4" players have been requesting game developers to add some of the elements found in the earlier version of Electronic Arts' life simulation game such as Sim animals, seasons and more. Recently, hidden game files hinted that a "Pets" themed DLC might soon be released.

Several game codes discovered hidden in "The Sims 4" files contained "CAT" and "DOG" descriptors that teased of a potential "Pets" DLC. Posted on the fansite Sims VIP, some of the codes even hinted of in-game objects that will involve the said two animal species such as a painting, craft picture, TV and floor mural.

It seems that game developers have also been working on Sim interactions and other movements that involve the said two species such as swimming, protesting for a cause, including what appears to be the Sim vampire's special run action. Moreover, game codes for several causes of an in-game death also mentioned "CAT" and "DOG" descriptions in it.

At this time, it is unclear if the said game codes pertain to animal actions or reactions to what human Sim characters would do. Neither Electronic Arts or game developers Maxis and The Sims Studio have commented on the said "The Sims 4 Pets" speculations.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time that hidden codes for animals or pets were found in the game. Several reports also leaked game files that suggest of the highly-awaited species being added to "The Sims 4."

In other news, game developers recently released an in-game Triple Boost Challenge that allows Sim characters to gain relationship points at three times the normal rate. The Valentine's Day-themed event is helpful in increasing a Sim character's relationships, both romantic and platonic, according to an announcement posted on the game's forums.

Gamers can look for the non-playable character named Jasmine Holiday to enjoy the temporary relationship boost. Lasting six Sim days, players can request for another boost from Holiday once the initial relationship upgrade wears off.

"The Sims 4" in-game event will run until Feb. 21, Tuesday.
