Gong Yoo Tops List Of Ideal Valentine’s Day Date; Beats Park Bo Gum, Song Joong Ki
Given the impending Valentine's Day annual celebration, many women expressed their wish to go on a date with Gong Yoo. The "Goblin" star nabbed the top spot on a survey that asked female respondents to identify the South Korean celebrity that they would like to spend Valentine's Day with.
Gong topped the list of South Korean male celebrities that women would like as their date for Valentine's Day. Around 20 percent of more than 2,000 survey respondents choose the "Goblin" actor, according to data from PMI, as cited by Xports News.
Securing the second spot is Park Bo Gum followed by his label mate and celebrity friend Song Joong Ki. The "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" star was chosen by 12 percent of the respondents, while the "Descendants of the Sun" actor gained 8.1 percent of the votes.
Meanwhile, Gong's "Goblin" co-star Lee Dong Wook landed at number four with a 7.8 percent share of respondents' votes. At number five is the "Master" actor Kang Dong Won who nabbed 7.3 percent of the votes.
It appears that Gong's titular role in the tvN fantasy series "Goblin" helped to push the actor's popularity to a higher level. Portraying the immortal Shin, the "Train to Busan" star impressed many fans with his acting and onscreen bromance with Lee.
Recently, the "Coffee Prince" actor displayed his casual side in the photoshoot for High Cut magazine. Featured as the cover star for the said magazine's latest issue, Gong conveyed a boyfriend look given his various fashionable ensembles, All Kpop reported.
Gong wore several jacket pieces for the said photoshoot ranging from hoodies to safari jackets. Reminiscent of his iconic "Goblin" character, the actor also kept his hair wavy with a few curls touching his forehead.
Meanwhile, "Goblin" had a successful 16-episode run marked with double-digit ratings that even broke through the 20 percent level. The said tvN drama aired its series finale on Jan. 21 and released two special episodes on Feb. 3 and Feb. 4.
