Nintendo Switch News And Updates: Hideo Kojima Praise, Metal Gear Coming To Switch?
Hideo Kojima gives his thoughts about the Nintendo Switch. The "Metal Gear Solid" developer only has praise for the innovative console/handheld hybrid.
In an interview with IGN, Kojima praises the concept behind Nintendo Switch-the ability to play a game on a home television and take it anywhere as a portable handheld device. The feature is called "transferring," allowing players to easily transfer their game saves from their console to handheld to game while on the go.
Also, Kojima comments on the similarity of the Nintendo Switch system to the digital movement in film and television, specifically when consumers can buy the product's physical copy while receiving a digital code for it as well. This allows people to watch it on their television using the physical product then download it to their phones and handhelds to continue it while outside the house.
Kojima also thinks that despite the reserved stance of most companies for Nintendo Switch, the upcoming console presents an important step for the future of gaming. After all, he sees it as a precursor of the gaming future where everything is cloud-based and players can play regardless of location or device used.
According to Game Rant, not only Kojima expects great things for the Nintendo Switch, as most analysts are predicting it will outsell the Wii U within four years of being released. The Wii U sold 40 million units during the time period, and if the Switch manages to do better, it will be performing as well as the PS4 and Xbox One.
As it still stands, the Nintendo Switch can make a big impact on the gaming industry if Nintendo is able to support it with lots of games. Alternatively, third-party developers like Kojima could invest in the console and make games that could make the system worth buying.
