Lee Min Ho To Celebrate Love Month With 6,000 Fans
Hallyu star Lee Min Ho plans to celebrate the Valentines month with at least 6,000 fans in South Korea.
The actor's management label MYM Entertainment announced Wednesday that the 29-year-old star will be holding a fan meeting at the KungHee University's Peace Hall on February 18 and 19 as a post celebration of his 10th year anniversary in the industry.
"Lee Min Ho's 10 year anniversary marking his debut has passed," stated MYM Entertainment, according to allkpop. "Due to conflicting drama filming schedules and such, we were unable to hold the event last year. So we pushed it back to February, once filming has concluded."
Lee Min Ho currently stars in the SBS hit series "The Legend of the Blue Sea" with Hallyu actress Jun Ji Hyun.
He achieved his Hallyu star status through his lead role in the Korean adaptation of the Japanese manga "Boys Over Flowers" in 2009 and reached his 10th-anniversary last year in May.
According to Yonhap, his fans from across the globe celebrated this milestone in various ways last year. Fans created videos for the actor and played them in Myeongdong and Gangnam as well as in Tokyo, Beijing, and Shanghai.
Japanese fans congratulated him through the ad spaces on Seoul's subway lines and buses while the Mexican fans threw him a party and the Turkish fans went on the hot air to display a message for the actor.
Fans also flooded the social media with photos of themselves holding identical banners while others donated to World Vision, UNICEF and offered their service to those in need.
The upcoming fan meeting may be especially meaningful since Lee Min Ho is expected to serve his military duty this year.
"I am like an incomplete book," he said, according to DramaFever. "I am a work in progress. Therefore, the end is still vague. However, I think the pages that I'm writing now will last forever. It'll be remembered definitely. So no, I'm not worried. I just feel I have to work hard to share my love with everybody."
