Stars Who’ll Be Returning From Military Duty In 2017

Korean singer-actor Kim Hyun Joong's DNA matches ex-girlfriend's three-month-old son.

The start of the new year brings good news for fans who've been patiently waiting for this year when their male idols would be coming back from their military duties.

The male celebrities with release dates this year after completing almost two years of military service are SS501's 30-year-old member Kim Hyun Joong on February 11, TVXQ's 30-year-old member Yunho on April 20, TVXQ's 28-year-old member Changmin on August 18, Super Junior's 30-year-old member Eunhyuk on July 12, Super Junior's 30-year-old member Donghae on July 14, Super Junior's 30-year-old member Choi Siwon on August 18, JYJ's 30-year-old member Park Yoochun on August 26 and the 29-year-old star of "My Girlfriend Is A Nine-Tailed Fox" Lee Seung Gi on October 31.

Seven male celebrities were released from the military last year starting with "King of Baking" actor Yoon Si Yoon in January, "My Tutor Friend 2" actor Park Ki Woong in February, jtL's Lee Jae Won in October and in December were Super Junior's Shindong and Sungmin and TVXQ's Jaejoong.

These stars are expected to pick up where they left off - may it be good or not.

"This year, many male celebrities are returning to society," allkpop quoted an entertainment industry representative as saying. "However, a few of those stars have been in controversies, so they are not likely to hasten their return to the entertainment world. They're going to have to move based on the public, so they may still have long hiatuses after their discharge."

Singer-actor Kim Hyun Joong, who rose to fame in the 2009 hit drama "Boys Over Flowers," has been fighting off a long legal battle with ex-girlfriend Ms. Choi. She gave accused him of domestic violence n 2014 and gave birth to their son the following year.

They would resume their appeals trial next Wednesday after Ms. Choi lost her lawsuit against the entertainer.

Double S 301 members, meanwhile, said they're still willing to work with the SS501 member despite the scandal.

"Honestly, we are born from SS501, so I have a desire to work with him. And I believe that the issues the public has with Kim Hyun Joong will resolve itself with time," said Kim Kyu Jong in a press conference December 8.
