Hyun Bin’s First Public Comment On Dating Kang So Ra Revealed; Shares What His Ideal Partner Is

Actor Hyun Bin talked about his relationship with Kang So Ra for the first time while netizens recollected what he said about his ideal partner.

The 34-year-old actor behind the hit TV romantic comedy series "My Name is Kim Sam Soon" and "Secret Garden" commented on the recent announcement that he's dating the 26-year-old actress.

"I can't help but be cautious about what I say because currently, anything personal I say can become a headline," Soompi quoted Hyun Bin as saying during a press conference for his new movie "Confidential Assignment."

He added, "We like each other. Our relationship has only just begun so we're erring on the side of caution. We're going to take our time to get to know each other."

He asked the public for their continued support and thanked them for their interest.

The actor's management agency VAST and the actress' label Plum Entertainment both confirmed Thursday that the couple is seeing each other. They first met only two months ago when Kang So Ra made arrangements to shift agencies. She kept in contact with Hyun Bin's representatives until their friendship blossomed into something more.

The now-public relationship made netizens suddenly look back on the actor's past comments on marriage as well as what the actress said when asked about her ideal guy.

 "I would like to be with someone who is very understanding. Though there are a lot of people who like my job, there aren't that many people who truly understand what it entails," he said before his military enlistment in 2011, as reported by Soompi.

The actress, who appeared in the 2012 teen musical "Dream High" and recently finished the legal drama "My Lawyer, Mr. Jo," also described her ideal type during a guest appearance last year on tvN's "Taxi."

"A tall man with wide shoulders and a little meat on his bones," she answered.
