Nintendo's First Smartphone Game Set To Be Announced Soon? Expansion Imminent!
DeNA West CEO confirms that there will be news of the Nintendo first smartphone game in the near future and the gaming community will not have to wait any longer. The expansion to the smartphone game industry is now imminent.
Nintendo has shocked the gaming community earlier this year with their announcement of expanding their horizons to the smartphone game industry. The major gaming company will be collaborating with mobile specialist DeNA. Now, DeNA West CEO Shintaro Asaka has announced that this will not be delayed any longer and will be discussing details to the public soon, according to GameRant.
"Soon, we should be able to announce the game," Asako said, on a report by VentureBeat.
In the past, Nintendo has declared that they will launch five new smartphone/tablet games between now and March 2017. Asako has also confirmed this during the Gamesbeat 2015 interview. Even though the former president of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata, has died last summer, the plans have not changed one bit. Asako has also confirmed that their partnership with Nintendo a "really long-term initiative", according to Gamespot.
In the past, Nintendo has denied any plans in going to the smartphone gaming industry/business. Now, it seems the gaming company could not deny the advantage of the market.
"We can't deny the massive install base of smartphones out there, and some fans that aren't old enough yet to afford their own gaming console, perhaps for those consumers they can start to appreciate some of our content and build a relationship with some of our characters and our franchises," executive Scott Moffitt explained in August. "We feel it's going to be an additive to our console business."
Veteran 'Mario Kart' producer Hideki Konno will be the one directing Nintendo's new smartphone games in the future.
There is still no news on what the Nintendo first smartphone game will be.
