There is a new "Friday the 13th" game that will let you play as Jason. It needs funding and also the director of the "Friday the 13th" franchise is on board for the game.

The new "Friday the 13th" video game will be something to look forward to. This new ambitious game lets you play as the murderous Jason or you can also play as one of the guys and girls who will try to run away from him. Director Sean S. Cunnigham was so impressed that he joined Gun Media to create this game.

The game is now live on Kickstarter and it needs $700,000 to make this awesome game a reality, according to Kotaku.

It is a multiplayer game and a cool feature about this game is you can actually attack Jason. This is not recommended since it is evident in the movies that those who try to attack the monster will die sooner or later.

Another juicy feature about this game is that the original actor of Jason Voorhees himself, Kane Hodder will take on the role. He will also assist on motion capture and stunts in the game. Even the special effects master Tom Savini and original composer Harry Manfredini is on board, according to Stuff.

Gun Media and developer Illfonic will be on hands for this great game, according to Gamespot.

"We don't want that. You don't want that," Gun Media said. "We're not interested in compromising what made the film franchise so popular. We're interested in building precisely what we, as fans, want. The ultimate Friday the 13th experience. Blood, guts, gore, brutal kills, and more."

He further added," You want an experience true to the films, and so do we. It's about creative control and delivering the best game we can. We want to share that control, with you, not a publisher."

The "Friday the 13th" game will be run on Epic's Unreal Engine 4.
