Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s Case Draws to a Close: $10 Million Divorce Settlement in Tow
The marital row between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard which escalated to a full-blown court case is finally settled with the two parties ending with the statement: "Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love."
The rocky partnership only lasted for 15 months but Depp was forced to settle the divorce at an appalling rate of $10 million. However, this seemed to have ended well. It was a relief not only to the ex-couple but also to their family members because earlier this month, Depp was ready to push through with the filing of charges as he called on a credible group of witnesses ready to testify against the estranged wife's claims of physical abuse.
However, due to unexplainable circumstances, Heard failed to depose in connection with her absence from court sessions. She was also the first to file a divorce case earlier this year. Called to be the "most acrimonious divorce in Hollywood", it was definitely a stormy ordeal involving different groups of witnesses such as security guards, concierges, publicists and a housekeeper. Another shocking part of this divorce is when Depp cut his finger then wrote accusations against his former wife with a mixture of his own blood and blue paint on a mirror. The source of his anger was his wife's fling with 61-year-old Billy Thornton whom she worked with in the movies The Informers and London Fields.
In the end, Amber Heard is "...happy with the settlement, it was never about the money for her, she was unhappy with the way Johnny treated her but it has been painful and emotionally rendering to relive this stuff...She didn't want to torture Johnny any more and wanted it to be over before the court hearing on Wednesday."
Moreover, she will be donating a part of the settlement to charity. When it comes to moving on, she have started on the right foot.
