Lee Min-ho's 'Bounty Hunter' Is an Instant Hit in China
Lee Min-ho's latest flick, "Bounty Hunters," is an instant hit in China. The film grossed 9 billion won ($7.8 million) on its release date in China.
The action film opened on July 1 in 52,000 theaters in China, Korea Times reports. About 26.7% of those tickets were reserved beforehand. The film, produced by Korea and China, scored about 20.7 billion won ($17.3 million) in ticket sales before July 1 and July 3, Entgroup reports.
"The local response has been really strong. Bounty Hunters topped the most-searched terms on Baidu and Weibo," said a Starhaus Entertainment official.
"Bounty Hunters" is Lee Min-ho's China debut. The Korean star plays Yi San, a smart man with exceptional martial arts ability, Korea Times reports.
"Bounty Hunters" is scheduled to be released in England, Australia, Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Taiwan as well.
