‘Outlander’ Season 2: Sam Heughan And Caitriona Balfe Set For More Mature Scenes? On-Set Couple Cuddling Off-Screen?

As "Outlander" comes closer to its comeback to the TV scene, fans are eager to know what will happen to Claire Randall Fraser and Jamie Fraser, which are played by Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan.

The on-screen couple indeed clicked very well in the hearts of their fans, leading several rumors saying that Balfe and Heughan are bringing their "Outlander" relationship to real life.

Recently, various reports gave hope to their followers of what they have wanted to happen which is for the rumored couple to be romantically linked off-cam. Speculations were saying that both "Outlander" stars showed sweetness during a break in their series shooting.

"Sam and Caitriona were taking a short break between scenes when I saw them off to the side, holding hands and Sam was even whispering in her ear," an extra of the show shared to Celeb Dirty Laundry.

"She was laughing at whatever he said and well, they looked like an ordinary couple," the source above added.

Meanwhile, Sam Heughman revealed to Elle some of the things that the series' fans should expect. The actor shared not just about his love story with Caitriona Balfe but also a new setup they got for the show.

"It's completely different than season one. We're in Paris, so there's a completely different look to the show. The costumes look fantastic. It's very ostentatious," Heughman said.

"The allies and the enemies are very different. There's less people with swords and shields and more back-stabbings and politics," he added.

Heughman continued, "well, now they're married. Claire is pregnant, and Jamie is suffering from the trauma of season one and what happened to him at the end. So their relationship is in a very strange place now."

"The honeymoon is kind of over. But that doesn't mean they won't get back there. They have a lot going on and they're working on their relationship. Their relationship is less innocent and young. It's now more grown up," Heughman noted.

Although rumors are high that Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are already in a relationship, both "Outlander" stars kept on denying the speculations. "Outlander" season 2 airs on April 9th on Starz.
