'You Took A Chance On Me' - Ruby Rose Gushes Over 'Orange Is The New Black' Cast On Instagram
Following that diversity speech of the cast of "Orange is the New Black" during the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, former Litchfield actor Ruby Rose took to Instagram to share her gratitude.
"Wow thank you #sagawards I am without words, sad that I couldn't fly back to see my beautiful cast and family. Life long friends who changed everything about life as I know it," Ruby Rose wrote on Instagram of her "Orange is the New Black" cast mates.
"Something so special to be so proud of so many people, to be part of such an important show. I will forever be grateful I was lucky enough to be cast in this series... People took a chance on me," Rose added.
She also acknowledged the fact that "Orange is the New Black" was her gateway to Hollywood. Before acting, Ruby Rose worked as a DJ and model.
"It's because of this show I'm here in Europe shooting a film and that my life will never be the same," said the gener-fluid star. "To be given an award for something that we all dreamt to be doing our whole lives seems surreal.. I love you all. God bless."
This week, the cast and production team of "Orange is the New Black" took the SAG Awards stage to claim their award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
"Look at this stage," cast member Laura Prepon, who plays the role of inmate Alex Vause said. "This is what we talk about when we talk about diversity. Different race, color, creed, sexual orientation."
Laura Prepon appeared on the SAG stage with "OITNB" cast mates Uzo Aduba (who also won Best Actress in a Comedy Series and took her prom date to the red carpet event), Laverne Cox, Jackie Cruz, Lea DeLaria, Catherine Curtin, Kimiko Glenn and more.
