'Fast And Furious 8' Goes To Iceland; Deepika Padukone Rumored To Join The Cast

From Miami, Tokyo, Panama, Rio de Janeiro and London, the eight installment of "Fast and Furious" is now said to be making wheeled action packed scenes in the West Iceland town of Arkranes. Also, Bollywood actress, Deepika Padukone has been rumored to be included in the cast of the movie.

Speculations of having Padukone in the franchise has been everywhere after the lead star of the movie, Vin Diesel posted a picture with the Bollywood star on Instragram last month.

According to Enstarz, though Padukone fueled up the rumor by posting an image with Diesel, the actor eventually revealed that both of them are working together not with "Fast and Furious 8" but with "XXX: The Return of Xander Cage." Vin Diesel also revealed that they was trying to have Deepika Padukone for "Fast and Furious 7' though.

"You have heard some of the casting, you have heard about Deepika, who is somebody I have wanted to work with for a long time. We were really close to working together in Furious 7 and...we are going to have a blast," Diesel said.

"I have been dying to work with someone from Bollywood and bridge that gap, and I think there is something very multi-cultural about that, and very exciting," he said. "I think she is going to be just such a delight. I think the world is going crazy over her character," he added.

Iceland Review shared on their report that the Mayor of Akranes, Regína ásvaldsdóttir confirmed that the crew of the anticipated film will be capturing some of their scenes in Iceland.

"The Hollywood film Fast 8, the eighth of The Fast and the Furious action movies, will be partly shot in the West Iceland town of Akranes, about 45 km (28 miles) north of Reykjavík, Vísir reports. Mayor Regína ásvaldsdóttir confirmed this. She told Vísir the film crew will be arriving in April.Residents of Akranes received the news at their þorrablót gathering. "Surely, this is an extensive project and will affect retail and service in town," Regína said. She claims residents are excited," Iceland Review reported.

As the cast and location were revealed, "Fast and Furious" fanatics can't wait any longer to see the eighth installment of the monster franchise which will be released on April 15, 2017.
