NBA Trade Rumors: Boston Celtics Make Their Move To Acquire Jeff Teague, Al Horford?
As NBA trade deadline draws closer, rumors are rife that Boston Celtics are currently looking at Atlanta Hawks' roster. Reportedly, the former are considering to acquire power forward Al Horford and guard Jeff Teague.
Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge was reported to have been showing great interests in acquiring both Horford and Teague should the Hawks present a reasonable deal.
"Atlanta, 've been told, is ready to turn the page, to give the team to Dennis Schroeder, their young point guard, who is ready to step up and be a starter," said CSNNE reporter Chris Mannix per Real GM.
"Teague is available because Teague has some value. He has another year left on his contract, about $8 million per year, and teams across the league are looking to get him."
Mannix added more about the said NBA trade rumors saying that the Celtics have already inquired with the Hawks about the possibility of the trade. Some sports analysts said that Teague might not be a good fit with the Celtics since the team already has a handful of point guards in its roster.
However, there are some analysts that consider Teague as a valuable asset for the future of the Celtics organization, according to NESN.
The Celtics already have Isaiah Thomas who is playing incredibly well and is an All-Star caliber. On the other hand, Teague earned his All-Star badge last season and he continues to grow.
Horford is also a great addition to the Celtics' front court should the team acquire him. The three-time All-Star can provide the necessary lift in the Celtics post which is considered deep but far from being dominant.
The NBA trade deadline will close on Feb. 18, and as the date looms closer, more rumors regarding acquisitions are expected to come out.
