Katherine Heigl To Return To 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 13 After Failed TV Series 'State Of Affairs'?

A lot of fans have admired Katherine Heigl's performance in "Grey's Anatomy."

The blonde beauty's portrayal of Dr. Isobel "Izzie" Katherine Stevens in the TV series even won her an Emmy award and a Screen Actors Guild award.

And now that Patrick Dempsey has been killed off the show, is it time for Shondaland to bring back Katherine Heigl in "Grey's Anatomy"?

Some fans believe that returning to the hospital drama series could do wonders for the actress' career especially after her TV series 'State of Affairs' got cancelled after only one season.

According to previous rumors, Katherine Heigl left "Grey's Anatomy" allegedly because of a misunderstanding with its creator Shonda Rhimes. The feud was purportedly triggered by the actress' manager mom, Nancy who dissed the show's script and plot direction.

Celeb Dirty Laundry previously reported that Katherine Heigl was purportedly thinking of firing her own mom, sparking fans' hopes that Heigl might have a chance to come back to "Grey's Anatomy."

"Nancy isn't a producer, or really even a manager - something that she admits herself," OK! Magazine previously wrote, as quoted by CDL. "But she thinks that she has a right to make decisions and she has angered a lot of people in the process."

Is there a chance that Shonda Rhimes would hire Katherine Heigl back? Though it may not be clear at the moment, things are looking negative for the actress' speculated comeback to the TV series.

After all, if Rhimes had any intentions of getting Heigl back, the best and most sensible time would be right after Patrick Dempsey left the show.

Despite the reported misunderstanding with Shonda Rhimes, Katherine Heigl previously acknowledged how the show contributed to her career.

"This 13-year-old girl was telling me this weekend how much she loves Grey's Anatomy, and I was like, do you realize you were a 1-year-old when we started the show?" Katherine Heigl previously told Entertainment Tonight.

"It's been that long since it's been on the air. It changed the course of my life and my career, and I couldn't be more grateful. I just hope it goes for as long as they all want it to."

Heigl is reportedly starring in an upcoming show titled "Doubt," according to Daily Mail. Fans are hoping that her new TV comeback would be much successful in ratings than "State of Affairs."

Katherine Heigl starred in "Grey's Anatomy" from 2005 to 2010.
