‘Downton Abbey’ Season 6 Episode 5 Spoilers: Will Hugh Bonneville Say Goodbye To The Series?

As recalled in the previous episodes of  "Downton Abbey Season 6," Robert Crawley, Hugh Bonneville's character in the story, revealed that he is experiencing stomache pains for a long time.

International Business Times shared the synopsis of the upcoming episode 5 of "Downton Abbey" season 6 that would definitely surprise the audiences as the season finale draws near.

"While Barrow and Robert's death could be possible, Anna's pregnancy shared joy to the viewers. Everything seems to be going pretty well with Mr. Mason's Farm and Gwen's visit. On the other hand, Spratt rescues Denker and Thomas will give Andy a generous offer," the synopsis revealed.

Although the series is now on its final season, Gareth Neame, executive producer of "Downton Abbey," shed light to the fans of the drama series in his interview with The Sun about the possibility of putting the British show to the big screen.

"There is no script and no firm plan, but it's certainly something there is talk of. We're not in denial about anything. We'll know more next year," Neame said.

Neame also shared that season 6 could have not been the last season. The producer declared that one of the main reasons why they decided to end it was because of Maggie Smith' s possibility of being unable to stick around. However, the team is still satisfied of what they have reached.

"We all feel very blessed. Nobody regrets ending when we did. We have a final season that's as strong as the first because we quit while we were ahead. We had the ambition that we had a complete show," he added

Despite the possibility of losing great characters in season 6 of "Downton Abbey," fans still can't wait to see the whirlwind ending of the story.

"Downton Abbey" airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on PBS.
