Joanne Froggatt Makes Fun Of Kate Middleton's 'Downton Abbey' Visit? Sex Joke Rumored To Offend Royals

Joanne Froggatt may have purportedly made an unintentional joke about Kate Middleton's visit to the set of "Downton Abbey" last year.

In her recent interview in Conan, Joanne Froggatt, who plays house maid Anna Bates in "Downton Abbey," recounted how nervous she and her castmates were when Prince William's wife went to see them in action.

Apparently, Kate Middleton watched Froggatt and her co-star, Michelle Dockery, tape a scene shot in the bedroom of Dockery's character, Lady Mary.

Afterwards, Kate Middleton talked to Froggatt and Dockery, reportedly expressing how strange it was to be in Lady Mary's bedroom.

"I said, 'Yeah, not many people get to come in Lady Mary's bedroom,' " Joanne Froggatt told Conan, as quoted by People. "And then I was like, 'Oh my God. What have I just said?' I've just said something that could be taken really the wrong way...and I thought, 'Do I say? Do I draw attention to it?' "

As innocent and unintended as her story was, there are speculations that the actress' joke could have offended the British Royal Family.

Celeb Dirty Laundry's article about the incident was headlined: "Kate Middleton Furious: Queen Elizabeth Bans Joanne Froggatt 'Downton Abbey' Sex Joke - Will Not Air On British Television."

"Did Queen Elizabeth ban the release of an interview with an unintentional sex joke made by Joanne Froggatt from airing in Britain?" the article wrote. "We're not really certain why everyone is making such a big deal out of the story Froggatt told on Conan O'Brien's late night talk show recently."

"And get this! It wasn't even Queen Elizabeth who made the call that the video wouldn't be released. The video of O'Brien interviewing Froggatt has aired everywhere in the world," the report added.

The Buckingham palace is yet to comment on rumors that the Royal Family was offended by Joanne Froggatt's interview about Kate Middleton's visit to the set of "Downton Abbey."
