Cody Walker's First Movie Role As Brian O'Conner Set To Happen Again? 'Fast 8' Rumors Released!
Paul Walker's younger brother, Cody Walker, who stepped in during the filming of "Fast and Furious 7," might be returning for "Fast 8" as Brian O'Conner!
Cody Walker's first movie role was rather informal - when his older brother, Paul Walker died in a car crash in 2013, he stepped in as sort of a body double for the rest of his unfilmed scenes in "Fast and Furious 7." Now, reports claim Cody Walker will reprise the role of Brian O'Conner in "Fast 8."
"Paul's brother Cody Walker was able to help finish the previous film as an uncredited cast member," Inquisitr reported. "But in recent times, NBC Universal revealed that Paul's character Brian O'Conner will return in "some form or another," although the exact form remains a surprise."
Since Cody Walker's first movie role was as Brian O'Conner, as a somewhat replacement of Paul Walker (CGI was used in post prod to make him look like Paul), it would be somewhat fitting that he returns for "Fast 8."
"(Cody's) acting career is in its beginning stages. He's open to all types of roles," manager Matt Luber told NY Daily News last April 2015.
However, it's possible Caleb Walker could be playing said the role instead, since he also filled in for Paul in some scenes in "Fast and Furious 7."
Although these reports are yet to be confirmed, shooting locations for "Fast 8" will reportedly include New York and Cuba.
The Hollywood Reporter also said that "Fast 8" director, F. Gary Gray had recently returned from a location scouting trip in the said country.
"Fast and Furious 8" plot details are yet unknown but Vin Diesel recently told MTV News that the film might just become almost as a tribute to Paul Walker's memory.
"Paul Walker used to say that eight was guaranteed," Vin Diesel said. "And in some ways, when your brother guarantees something, you sometimes feel like you have to make sure it comes to pass."
He continued: "So if fate has it, F8...if fate has it, then you'll get this when you hear about it. Seven was for Paul, eight is from Paul."
