'Mortal Kombat X' Beta Aims Enhanced Online Gameplay; 'Kombat Pack 2' Content Waves Criticism
NetherRealm will be launching a closed beta for "Mortal Kombat X" players to deliver a better online gaming experience.
Everyone who has spent at least an hour playing "Mortal Kombat X" will be eligible to sign up for the closed beta. However, the first wave of invites will be sent to selected players only and more players will be added over time, Lazy Gamer.
Moreover, only four characters will be accessible during "Mortal Kombat X" beta including Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Jacqui Briggs and Johnny Cage.
"The characters will allow players to get in some play time to test out how well the online multiplayer handles input latency, lag, hit detection and network response timing to ensure that the online will be able to keep up with the rapid-fire speed of 'Mortal Komat X' gameplay," Cinema Blend wrote.
The website added that the new netcode's arrival will be just in time for the next DLC called "Kombat Pack 2" which brings Xenomorph, Leatherface, Bo' Rai Cho and Tri-Borg.
Meanwhile, the upcoming "Kombat Pack 2" has waved criticism from players.
The players stated that the new season pass will offer items that are already available in separate purchases. Wherein, players 'that currently own those add-ons might be paying twice for the exact same goods,' Design and Trend reported.
The DLC includes Kold War Skin Pack, a Brazil Skin Pack, a Kold War Scorpion Skin and a Goro character download.
Fans also speculate that the DLC will not be available on PC version as they cited that PS4 and Xbox One logo were featured on the trailer, while the Steam logo is "nowhere to be found," Design and Trend added.
But on the lighter side, GameSpot specified on its latest article that PC version will receive the DLC, too, although the game developer is yet to confirm this detail.
Players may start signing up on Jan. 19. Here's a video where the game developer explains how the netcode works as well as other details of the beta.
