Netflix Promised a "KPop Demon Hunters" World Tour in May. Two Months Later, Fans Still Don't Know Where or When.
Netflix and AEG Presents announced a "KPop Demon Hunters" global concert tour on May 13, timed to the streamer's Upfront presentation to advertisers in New York. The pitch was big: a live show spanning roughly 150 cities starting in 2027, built around the Oscar- and Grammy-winning film's soundtrack. More than two months later, none of the specifics - cities, dates, venues, ticket prices, or even whether the film's actual singing cast will perform - have been released.
What Netflix has confirmed is limited to a single sentence repeated across its own materials: the tour will be "a live experience that will bring elements of the two-time Oscar-winning film to life in spectacular ways." A waitlist at kpopdemonhunterslive.com is the only concrete thing fans can act on right now. Netflix's president of ad sales, Amy Reinhard, told the Upfront audience in May that cities would be announced "later this year," but no follow-up has landed since.
The uncertainty extends to who would actually perform. Ejae, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami - the real vocalists behind the film's HUNTR/X trio - have spent the past year performing "Golden" on late-night television and at the Academy Awards, and Bloomberg's original March report on the tour talks named them as the expected live act. But neither Netflix nor AEG Presents has confirmed the trio will tour, and earlier reporting noted the companies were also weighing virtual or hologram performers instead, partly as a way to manage costs on a production of this scale.
The commercial case for moving fast is clear. "KPop Demon Hunters" became Netflix's most-watched original film ever, passing 500 million views since its June 2025 debut. Its soundtrack put four songs in the Billboard Hot 100's top 10 simultaneously - a first for any movie soundtrack - and "Golden" became the first K-pop song to win a Grammy, taking Best Song Written for Visual Media in addition to the film's Academy Award for Best Original Song. AEG Presents, the tour's co-producer, has a track record that includes global runs for Taylor Swift, BLACKPINK and Ed Sheeran, which is part of why the May announcement was treated as a near-certain arena tour rather than a speculative one.
None of that changes the basic fact that, as of this week, "KPop Demon Hunters Live" exists mainly as a URL fans can submit their email address to. A sequel to the film is already confirmed for 2029 release on Netflix, which gives the touring production a longer runway than most concert announcements get - but it also means the wait for actual dates could stretch well past what a typical arena tour rollout would require.
